Project Description
Organized an Eye Camp on 29th August 2025 in collaboration with B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) and Surya Eye Care, at the Special Education Centre, Dharan. The primary aim of the camp was to identify and address vision-related concerns among students with special needs, ensuring timely referral and intervention. A total of 89 students underwent eye examination by a team of ophthalmologists and optometrists, and support staff. Among them, 17 students were diagnosed with refractive errors and referred for cycloplegic refraction at a higher center. In addition, a few students with Down syndrome were found to have entropion, which had caused recurrent conjunctivitis. These cases were treated appropriately, with advice given for continued follow-up. Notably, Rtn. Dr Ichhya Joshi graciously committed to provide follow-up care free of cost, ensuring continuity of treatment and support for the children. The camp also served as an educational opportunity for parents and teachers, who were counseled on the importance of regular eye check-ups and eye hygiene
